65mm uniseals arrived yesterday so today I got the filter finished and in place waiting to be connected. I have filled it with town water and put in a bubbler. Will chuck a goldy in it tomorrow and if its still alive on Monday I will hook up the filter. Just want to be sure no nasties come out of the barrel and kill all my fish
Probably paranoid as I have scrubbed it out with detergent rinsed and then rinsed with 20L of boiling water

Got the big landing net happening in the tank before and netted out 4 more silvers. Donged one on the head for tea and put the other three in the ibc system taking the number in there to 12 silvers. Now I only have catfish and small silvers in the big tank so will add some goldfish for the winter to keep it ticking over.

Did the silver Thai style and it came out yummy

Have tried the trick of cutting spring onions at the base so they come again. Looks like it may work. The ones in the pic were cut a week ago

My spring onions grew back when I chipped them off at the base. Didn't seem to go as well though...

Nice looking dinner Mantis, I reckon if you're game you can also try cutting back leeks, celery, chives and garlic chives. Then for a real treat try taking cuttings of basil and tomatoes to strike new palnts as well. Pineapple tops will do well too and I have heard nasturtiums will strike from cuttings but that is yet to be confirmed!
