had a bit of a brain wave!!... :idea1: :sign7: :toothy8:
I have a few sheets of corrugated roofing sheets which I could cut down to size then bang into place on the outside of the frame (I might have euough to do about 2 sides, ... that means we only need to find material to do another 2 sides)...
Got the old ticker working overtime again

THis is one of the many reasons this site is so bloody great! What comes naturally to one AP'er will totally evade another - untill it is suggested or shared on BYAP...
One more problem solved
:D

I guess sometime I don't realize how good we have it over here in Perth with pure sand. Though the sand isn't as much fun as mud..... :) Great to see you've got an answer to the colapsing sides, this is another thing I haven't had to contend with here in WA with my sunken IBC. Do you have any problems with your other IBCs AM? Are they supported on their sides?

Strangely enough no... Not a sign of any sort that the sides want to bulge inwards - but then again my hole was dug with almost no extra room, and I filled in with a mix of woodchip and sand (I only used the very stoney subsoil)
Its raining right now and the boarders are out for most of the day - If the weather is clear tomorrow we will make a start at shoring up the sides etc...

I extended the area where the boarders are setting up their system today by about 3m, so they have plenty of space now! I will finish extending the fenc in the morning and with a little luck the boarders will get in and shore up the wall of their tank too (I sourced 4 more sheets of roofing this morning for them, so we SHOULD have enought to go all the way around their tank now :)

Here we have some images of the repair work under way... we are digging out around the IBC so that we can insert sheeting (which should prevent the soil from pushing the sides in again). I will take a photo of the inside showing the bulging sides this afternoon and post it here...)

Here are the images I promised of the bulging sides of the IBC - only 3 of the sides are bulging, which is a relief!

maybe fill it with hot water if you can get it to the tank easily. That would help with the anti-bulging

 around 24C when they were working on it, but the mud they put back in around it was sloppy, then they still forced it down thinking they were compacting it (the ibc was full of water which meant they did not see the bulging taking place till it was too late - I worked out that the bulges have reduced the volum of the tank by just over 150L  - we need to fix that soon

i don't think you'll be able to.

if the tank was full when it happened then it means that filling it with hot water is only going to make it worse.

Its only 10%, might be prudent to leave it well enough alone, dont want cyclic stresses on the tank causing a crack, just make sure to fill it again soon. Dunno, just a thought.

hmm - okay, good point to consider there - perhas we should still put the sheets in so as to make sure it does not bulge more :?:
