New Belgium is good, I do like most of theirs I still have a couple of the winter variety pack in my fridge right now (and thats one that I actually bought so that says something) but for me I go all over the board with what all I have on hand and drink. I will have to take a picture of my stock.

Yeah, I've used that before as a clarifying agent.

Out of interest I tried a little experiment tonight. I have a brew that has only just gone in the keg and is carbonating but I was interested to see if it was any good as it still needs a couple of days on the gas. I had the idea that I could try using the soda stream machine. I filled the soda stream bottle with the un-carbonated beer and gave it a fizz... it went a bit crazy and spurted out all over the place. I was left with about 200ml of the original 500ml which tasted fantastic and carbonated well. Ha ha.

Tried using soda stream once. Bottled some beer without carbination drops. Think more went over the kitchen than in the glass.

By the time I finished cleaning the kitchen and my self up, the beer was warm and flat.

Had a good chuckle though.

I'm sure there is a way to get it to work, but haven't tried again.

Yea Id pencil it up as a failure. I think the Co2 reacts with sugar when dosed in that fashion. Last weekend Mrs Charlie tried to carbonate a bottle of orange juice and it literally exploded all over the place... scared the crap out of us both hahahahah

The Soda Stream instructions specifically say not to use anything other than plain water!

Any small particles will form nucleation centres, causing the CO2 to come out of solution- resulting in a huge pressure rise, ie the explosion that is seen by all who try it, including myself with lemon cordial

Well there you go. Thanks, unforunately we found out the hard way.

I read in the instructions to only use water but rules need to be broken when it comes to beer drinking :D

Ahhuh, I was lent a system by someone. I think it was 1970's era, so instructions were well gone. I was experimenting to make a mini keg system, but didn't progress any further.

Wish I had bought some kegs back then. Kegs are alot easier to count than bottles. I realised when I was bottling on the weekend, I had only 1 box of full bottles left, 11 boxes of empties. Concerted effort required to get brew stocks back up again. At this rate I'll be drinkling packaged muck for about 2 months. Bugger!!
