Snowy Mt trout say they have none until late this year - same as others, unsure why they would advertise live fish.
Took ~ 10+ calls to establish this

Hey Rupert,

anyone else near Sydney know of anyone who has rainbow trout?

googling to no avail...

Just thought I'd clear this up.... Muzza seems to be suggesting that there's a shortage of Trout in NSW
(that's the thread anyway)...

http://www.aquaponics.net.au/forum/show ... #post64293

Yes, the summer heat wave impacted stock in WA... as Troutman has previously posted... some time ago...

Not 100% sure about SA... but I believe Tooperang has plenty...

Likewise Vic...

And NSW.... (I've certainly not been advised of any shortages ...)

Seems the most timely... and usually the most trustworthy information... is still to be found on BYAP....

Where was he located... most of the blokes up north usually try Arc-En-Ciel in Nundle...

But they spawn "out of season"... and sell their fingerlings between October-January.. usually all gone by mid February...

I think the other thing here is that most Trout farms are located some distance away from Sydney so for most people having them delivered by Rupe saves themselves a bit of a journey. Still, some people like a day out of town or a weekend away and pick up their fish as part of the trip so having an up to date list of fish suppliers in every state would be handy for many people I am sure.

For sure.

I would love an updated list of all victorian hatcheries that are willing to deal with the public.
Or even ones that deliver interstate like Aquablue do.

There is a List Floating around, I started one last year when I was Looking for Fish..

I do Agree.. A Sticky List of Fish hatchery's for Victoria and Even the Whole OF AUST would be Great..
