Here's some photos, they don't show much but it was the the camera could do in the way of a closeup.

It's the small white eggs on the pebbles that are my concern if they hatch it's going to cause problems.

They're not mealy bug eggs, they are probably either shed insect casings, such as aphids etc, or those little bugs that float on top of water in large groups, can't remember their name.

P.S. Your water level in your GB's is way to high. The max water level should be 25-50mm below the surface of the clay, I prefer closer to 50mm than 25mm... or were you flooding the media and that's when the white thingies showed up?... if so I would say it's definitely the little bugs that float on top of the water in tanks/reservoirs.

Thanks for the reply Mr Damage, no the GB water level isn't normally that high it was flooded to try and drowned whatever the pests were.

I've also removed the effected plants and soaked them in a bucket of water and hosed off any bugs so now only worry is if those eggs hatch.

The plants were end of season distressed stock from Bunning's and they must have been on the plants, I remove a white spider from the GB so I think that's where the eggs have come from.

Funny you should say that recently I also got some season distressed stock from Bunning's Pac Choi.

To put in a new practice system to see how they would do, after a week or so I didn’t like the look of them on close inspection found they were covered in some type of aphid type bug and were pulled out and went to the rubbish,
I will be more selective next time. Bunnings :bootyshake:
