I'm still in the design process, with the hopes of creating a small system that could reasonably survive a move if I end up elsewhere in my city. Looking over the thread on <500L systems has discouraged my inclination to go with a three tank CHIFT PIST system. I reckon it's all personal preference at this point? One last thing, I'm guessing any common fish with a fair appetite will suit my needs, considering a 55 gallon (~200L) tank won't allow a fish to grow to plate size (I assume...).

If my analysis is faulty I welcome any form of feedback. I'm eager to add my trials and tribulations to this wonderful forum!

Hi Nigel, you are right, 200l won't be enough to grow out fish for eating, but there are plenty of ornamental fish you could use to power your system.
