Well, now if that isn't perfect. I was monitoring the sunlight in the spot I want the aquaponics, because there are so many trees I had to make sure there was enough sunlight making it through for enough hours. In most places, there was, but just barely, and not a all in a few spots which limited the number of beds I could put in. I was wishing Progress Energy would feel the need to come trim trees as the trees are in the right of way under a power line and it would help the sunlight a good bit. Low and behold, who's in my back yard trimming trees this morning? Progress Energy! That just made my day.

Seriously? I have worked there for 13 years and have never seen a uniseal there. That are not a vendor we deal with. I am afraid the associate that said they could get it was mistaken, that is why it is not ordered. If it was available through West Marine, I certainly would have ordered mine there.

The manger of the store sent me to the guru guy at the store saying, "If we can get them, he'll know". The guru guy had no clue what they were but found them in the system online that he looked it up in and quoted me about the right price, 6 bucks or so. He ordered them on special order, and as far as they told me over the weekend, were still on order, faxed into the place that had them (they said). Doesn't matter though. I found them for a good price online and they shipped today. We'll have this thing up in no time. And hubby thinks he might be done with the 12 hour work day every day (crosses fingers) so we can put in some evening work on it.

I guess if they were mistaken and can't get them, I won't need to call them back and cancel, lol.

Ok, will put the pictures up in a second. We still need to:

*Add four more grow beds, two of which will be on top of the ibc's.
*Buy more lava rock, we needed more than we thought!
*Put up a better shade / prettier solution to than the tarp barely covering ibc's, hubby has something in mind but it will have to wait until a new pay day and probably not this coming weeked - two of us have a birthday and we have parties planned.
*Put up the lattice or whatever we decide to use for the vining plants to grow on. I forgot...can't exactly use tomato cages...metal in fish water and all...

Ok, still have four more beds to add, and two of these beds need more lava rock, and the cover for the ibcs is a temporary semi-fix, but here's the system so far...

Oh! And we're going to build a cover for the sump, too. A nice strong one that an 8yr old boy would not destroy by standing on, lol.

Also need to build a support for that PVC corner just hanging there.

Thanks, glad to finally have something to show for all that time researching online and chasing down pieces and all that money that was being spent....lol.

Can't wait for the veggies. Here's to hoping for no HSM's any time soon...

Just as a race car driver never looks where he does not want want to go but only where he does want to go, and jut as Mother Theresa never went to an anti-war rally but would go to a pro-peace rally, you should only focus on what what you do want, not hope that some thing does not happen.
