I've got lebanese watercress in floating pots in my fishtank. The growth is very vigorous but the leaves are all small. I gave a pot to my dad a few months back to grow in soil and the branches on that have grown out bigger but less vigorous as AP.

Is it just a matter of overcrowding?

Lebanese watercress has cycles and will go to flower and set seed at certain times, sometimes the plant continues to wither. Refreshing the conditions that it is growing in can help and we had rafts of lebanese watercress that were started from about 9 cuttings that rooted and filled a 30cm (12 inch) polystyrene floating raft in no time. The plant can also fall prey to pest attack and this can set the plant back. Try planting a couple of bits in the growbed (temporarily) and see how they grow, I am sure they will grow with the utmost of vigour, so don't leave them there to spread. This plant possibly has weed potential if it gets too close to nutrient rich waterways, so be warned.

Think the ducks will keep things in check Faye. This stuff is highly palatable and everything eats it (including me). Can manage aphids with ladybirds but not sure how to beat the thrips

Hi, I noticed your thread on this and was wondering how you all cook the leb watercress. Mine is growing well but have only tried it fresh on Sandwiches and salads.

I just add lebanese watercress raw to salads, I guess you could try steaming it but think you get more goodness when eaten raw. If you do cook it make sure you take photos and post them to share
