Hello I am new. I was having trouble sealing a bell siphon, I tried to use silicone and there was still some water in the rocks, and the silicone disolved. should i dump the the rocks? thankfully i did not drain it back to the tank.

I cant say Ive ever seen silicone disolve. Was it really old? Either way I dont think it will too much of an issue.

it disolved because it did not have a chance to dry. i let it sit all day with the siphon out and then i put the silicon on the stem reassembled and let it sit for about four hours, when i checked it, there was still a leak. I removed the siphon again and the caulking was pretty much gone. i put a bucket underneath it and flushed it best i could then flushed the rocks a coulple of times into a bucket. I went and got a bulkhead fitting and fixed the leak. I changed the water in my pond because even though i flushed the rocks it was still real cloudy. this is my first attempt at this and basically have gotten all my info off of youtube. but anyway my leak is fixed and i am refilling my pond.
