Based on the image on the eBay page positive +12v should be on terminal 4. When the timer switches on/off it's going to switch the voltage between terminals 3 and 5.
ie. When the timer is on voltage will be on one terminal and when it's off will be on the other.

Could be a broken screw on terminal 4, according to the diagram you definitely need to attach a +12v line there.

It should look like this:

Yes she works! Just like you showed me. :D

I have set it to come on for 15 mins every hour from 5am to 9pm.

This should get through sunny days no worries but not sure about a few cloudy days in a row. I have another panel i can add if this is the case.

I have 5 happy goldfish and i think a couple of minnows left. They should appreciate the extra oxygen. Especially as there is a heatwave inbound for the weekend and beyond... hopefully no more fires!

Hi again. System is working good so far. Fairly sunny day so far and forecast for plenty of hot sunny weather in bound. This should be a good test for my battery running at optimal.

On the fish side the water has cleared up heaps (it was very green) and i now can see i have 7 goldfish (comets and fantails) and maybe some minnows but yet to spot them.

Plants are doing well. Especially considering they were relying on a very forgetful human to turn the system off. But this meant at least they got really deep waterings.

Now its automated im hoping my tomatoes and chili plant really take off :D

Bit of an update.

The battery went flat running as stated above. Changed it to come on for only 10mins an hour from 10am - 6pm.

Also added another 10w solar panel. So thats 20w all up.

So far so good, been plenty of sunshine and the battery this morning was fully charged.

Once we are getting less sun i can charge the battery overnight from the mains supply or buy another battery.

Fish are all healthy and the water is very clear. Tomatoes etc doing better but the fruit is getting a bit sunburnt. Mints and chamomile are loving it!
