Kalau saya sarankan jangan pakai batu apung atau pumice. dulu saya pakai macam2 batu: pumice, batu kali, batu lava, akhirnya setelah beberapa bulan batu apung tumbuh ganggang hijau, sehingga sering benih mengalami root damage kalau sebar benih langsung di GB. Favorit saya untuk tanam sebar benih langsung: batu lava, karena efek kapilernya besar. Kedua batu kali, murah meriah, efek kapiler agak kurang, jadi untuk tebar benih langsung agak susah. tapi kalau transplant benih ok.
