To reiterate.. I really think that all the "do gooders are screwing up the world". I really think we need to make a law that says that every property owner should be required to OWN A GUN, HAVE IT THE PROPERTY and BE CERTIFIED PROFICIENT IT. I think that instead of the 300% increase of brake in's robberies and killings we would have much less crime. The government is afraid of armed citizens that are not afraid. Criminals are not afraid to break in to houses with no guns in them. Now with alll the turned in guns you only have an armed government and armed criminals. That leaves the honest citizens as slaves to the masters who have the guns. History says that the government will start killing citizens that don't fall in to line with anything they want to do, legal or not. Read the history of the world to see the proof.

That is my rant.....

Oh by the way I got a Brockley head yesterday so it is still working. I got a batch of radishes about the size of a quarter also
.

I just had a problem with too little plants and did a bunch of planting a while back. Tried some radishes and they sure work well. Got some big a a half dollar piece. Some split form growing too fast but they taste great. This time I have parsley and dill growing as well. It all died before. Also had stevia and sage that died also.

I just received my order of dwarf fruit trees and put them in barrels also. cant wait to see if they grow well also.

My hoop house is back up but the plastic repairs are not doing so well. IT is very hard to get the tape to stick well on the holes. Too many leaks and the two layers don't separate like they should.

Hi guys and girls. Been a while since I got on here. I caught the big one in the tank and we ate it.It was 4.4lbs on the bathroom scales cause I don't have any thing to weigh any better. The ruler in the picture is 18" long so. Tasted great too. Big enough for three plates of food. Sure wish I could see the pics in the camera better so I could tell they were not good. I took three and here are the two best ones. The other one is not recognizable so I deleted it.

The garden is doing better this year. Since the rainy season started I have been topping up the tank from the rain water pond. The PH is down to the high 7s and the plants sure like it. I have several cabbages ready to pick and some cauliflower. We already ate most of the Broccoli and whats left is going to seed faster than I can pick it. Got tomatoes started now also, just started to go. I had a lot of good radishes also. I just sprinkled the seeds on top of the gravel and did not try to get them into the water. They got enough moisture to start and find water on their own. Lots grew to a nice size bulb in about a month and others took up to two months and then all quit producing so I pulled the rest up. None were of size to eat so the chickens and rabbits got some greens. My onion test is failing so far. I planted some onion starts about 6 weeks ago by just setting them on top of the gravel like the radishes. All had some roots showing so I made sure they were reaching water on each cycle. The tops shot up like crazy and the roots grew quickly and the bulbs did not seem to change. Last year the garlic worked till it looked like it might be getting ripe enough then it started to spoil. I did save some though. Used in the cooking pot and was fine. Started more of the Anaheim peppers again. Sure liked the last ones.

After lots of computer repairs and house updating Im back to reading AP stuff. I bought 2 pair of ducks the other day and after a couple of weeks the two drakes died. YOu have probably heard fo the latest flood in Arkansas, that was about 30 miles away from here the people died in the flood. I had 5 inches of rain in the two days of the storm. My pond is full again. The Hoop house with stood the strain just fine.
I have already had to pull the sun screen over the beds. I have already hit 100 degrees here so the sun is killer on the plants when the wind stops completely.

Still did not catch the big cat in the AP pond yet. But we went fishing in the big pond and caught 4 more out of there. Should be 120 left and they mostly look BIG when I feed them. It is amazing that I can walk out there and call the fishes to me. They agitate the water like trout. I can see them speeding thru the water and making a wake when they come from the far end.

Gotta go for now. Later.

How goes it fellow arky!! I was just searching around and found your thread...great progress! I'll read it all eventually but its late now.

I did get to the part where you had discovered tomato horn worms so I thought I'd give you a reminder for this year in case you were busy lately and hadn't discovered them yet. Every year just before the the 4th of July.

ITS TIME TO KILL WORMS!! Seriously tho, their on your plants right now!! :)

Talk at ya later...

I'm in West Fork, just south of Fayetteville...can I ask where you reside?

HI lucky Nice to find another Arky in here. Do you have a system? Do you have a thread on here? I will look for it. I am just a bit east of Waldron. That is south of Fort Smith about 40 miles.

I have only seen a couple this year and they got to feed the fish. I still have some Thuricide from Home Depot. Cheap but really does the job. The Ozzies call it Dipel. Same stuff.

I just had three fish deaths so I am putting in the salt. I put in 10 pounds today and will put in the rest of the 20 pounds needed tomorrow. I did not want to change the level too fast but I dont want to loose any more fish either.

I really hate catapillers and butterflies now. They are not pretty anymore. They do too much damage every where they get to. They destroyed my cabbage plants again. They ate about 10 good ones. I have thrown most of the leftovers to the chooks which destroyed the bugs as well as the vegie stuff...
