How long it's been in the Fridge. Well the living lettuce keeps rather well in the fridge in a bag or clam shell so I would say for it to start looking sad like that, probably 3 or more weeks.

How dare you let the lettuce start getting old, you chickens must be very disappointed in you. And with the Freeze out in California, I hear lettuce prices have gone through the roof.

Hi Ryan,

thanks so much for your thread. I'm in awe of your home system and look forward to future progress reports.

I may have missed it in your thread but how will you filter the fish water prior to the rafts?

thanks and God bless, froggo.

Thanks Froggo!

I haven't gone into detail but I will be building a large radial flow-esq filter and then I'm going to run it through a few different smaller filters to allow me to some control over nutrient strengths going to different areas/crops in the greenhouse. I'll probably go into more detail when I'm plumbing it together.

Well, I got to experience something unbelievable yesterday... I delivered a baby goat! She started to come out but got stuck so I had to literally pull her out of momma and then Boom! She came to life! Unforgettable experience... My wife got it all on video so I'll try to figure out how to post it up later. In the mean time, here are a few pics of Cindy! (Cinderella, sticking with the Disney theme)

Ryan,

Can you describe how you sprout the fodder mats?

Is that filtered AP water? How filtered?

Don't remember if I ever posted this but it was a month or 2 ago...just a cool pic with a raft removed:

I have all my fish tanks in and plumbing has begun. Need to buy one more large fiberglass tank(part of filtration package) and the fish equipment will be complete. Then onward to building out the greenhouse!

Hey Ryan,

Congrats on the goat kids. I just hatched out some chicks again and life never ceases to amaze...

I've been following this thread for a while now so forgive me if you've already answered this question...
How deep are your DWC beds?
I'm about to build a raft system and if have any recommendations etc. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Mike

Nice write up.
It's encouraging to see more and more info on aquaponics out there.

Are you going to post the article you're writing for the Korean Mag?
