I have added 10 tandanus to my IBC. So far all is well but in a month or so I need more fish food. Do I have to get sinking food?

Reason I ask is my SP are hitting the sinking food halfway down but I dont know how much is getting to bottom of FT.

I also have an appardntly delicious live food available. Beside FT is a 200l barrel for my one yabbie. Some kind of insects have been breeding in there and there are thousands of larvae. Scoop them into net then empty them in FT and fish remove them in seconds. :D

I've just used the first feed of some I got from BigNutrition (ex-GrowBest) and it certainly seems the good - actually smells much better than the previous stuff.

Trouble is, I have been feeding the SP's and Cats on feed I got from the ex-owner of my basic system and the smaller stuff was sinking food. This SP-specific food is floating and so far the SP's (or cats) don't seem to realise they have been fed.

Anyone know how long it might take them to catch on they have to come to the surface to feed? I am figuring, seeing this is specific to SP's, that SP's do surface feed and I've been reading up on it - using floating food is recommended even in dams etc.

Just wondering how stressed the little buggers are going to be before they come up for the food.
