Hi guys most people call me Joe and there's a few that call me other names I can't repeat so let's settle for Joe.

I'm just starting out in Aquaponics and setting up a system with an IBC 1000ltr tank, I've run a couple of hydroponic systems in the past but the price of nutrients these days makes Aquaponics the way to go.

I'm hoping to learn the finer points from you all and be able to contribute some information on my system to the forum in the near future.

Thanks for the warm welcome. How do find the Yabbies go in Aquaponics? I'm thinking of starting out with just yabbies to get the feel and then lose the yabbies and try fish.

Looks like Charlie's dropped the ball on this one Joe! Short story is yes they go fine, but don't expect a feed of yabbs each week from a single IBC. They will also need plenty of cover to hide in otherwise they will be too busy eating each other to do much else.

Thanks for the reply Guys, I been reading up here on the forum and boy it's a gold mine of information well done to all involved.

I thought I'd try yabbies first up just to find my way and get everything up and running correctly but the more I read about and see the photos of the great fish yields everyone has posted I'm not sure if I shouldn't just start off with fish.

I'll keep reading and absorbing all the information available here before I make a final decision.
