Insert to make Blue drum cone bottomed

+1 on that. If the bottom of the cone could turn in to the same OD of a 3/4" or 1" piece of PVC that would be awesome too. (So you could plug it right into a bulkhead fitting)

Edit: Not sure on how big of an item these printers can do, but a cone like this could be 2 or 4 identical pieces that connect or glue together to form the whole.

Here is the quad head that one of my friends made for his micro aquaponics system... intended to add aeration into the fish tank. He designed this in 30 minutes and printed it in another 30 minutes and it works really nicely.

This is exactly the type of small practical think that we were thinking of using 3D printing for. The venturi adapter is in the works as we speak!

It is witchcraft if you ask me! But excellent nonetheless I agree. This could also be used to split a single water stream into four equal parts to go into four growbeds for example. It can be easily scaled up as well.

The only issues will be durability and whether it will be ok for use in direct sunlight. Indoors, no problem - but outdoors could be an issue... ongoing testing needed!

This was made by, and full credit goes to, Lem Fugitt who runs a site and company called Robot Dreams. Absolutely delighted that he has gotten into aquaponics as he has a big brain that could design some great fixtures and fittings!

Back when biodegradable plastic shopping bags were new, I saw one nailed on the north side of a shed on a farm.

It was still there 2 years later.

Honeycomb sheet that is buoyant with either holes for net pots or the net pots are also printed into the sheet as part of the print. Made from material that is suitable for potable water and UV resistant.

The most expensive DWC raft ever!?

Some form or shape that has a huge amount of surface area that can be placed in an Aquaponic system to boost living area for beneficial bacteria.

You could print a shape where the inside is actually the outside and the outside is actually the inside both at the same time!

Here's the idea that "bubbled" up for me! Make a timer/valve assembly that will run four hoses from the same pump, each for 15 minutes then have the valve switch to the next hose. This way you could pump to four grow beds on the 15/45 timed fills.

Should be a snap for a smart engineer with a 3D printer handy and lots of knowledge about pumps, solenoids, timers, and valves. :drunken:

Of course, if you know of something like that out on the market already I would be interested in the info.

... and make it hollow structure that can have air pumped through it - delivering aeration direct to the roots through the honeycomb lattice itself! :thumbright:

Lol, APART from a complete aquaponics system including the pump, media, (and fish ?)

a few things..

[*]like above, venturi, siphons etc
water proof enclosures for electroncs/other control units
[/*] <- how are you meant to use this thing ?

Creating an Ordered list
The second type of list, an ordered list, gives you control over what is output before each item. To create an ordered list you use
to create a numbered list or alternatively
for an alphabetical list. As with the unordered list, items are specified using [*]. For example:

      1. Go to the shops
      2. Buy a new computer
      3. Swear at computer when it crashes

      will generate the following:
      Go to the shops
      Buy a new computer
Swear at computer when it crashes
Whereas for an alphabetical list you would use:

      1. The first possible answer
      2. The second possible answer
      3. The third possible answer

      giving
      The first possible answer
      The second possible answer
      The third possible answer

[edit - Thats funny it should look like this...]

      Code:
      Creating an Ordered list

To create an ordered list you use [list=1][/list] to create a numbered list or alternatively [list=a][/list] for an alphabetical list. As with the unordered list, items are specified using [*]. [list=1]
      [*]Go to the shops
      [*]Buy a new computer
[*]Swear at computer when it crashes
      [/list]

      will generate the following:
      Go to the shops
      Buy a new computer
Swear at computer when it crashes
