Howdy all. I have done much research and am now ready to build a system. Was wondering is there anyone in my area with a system I may look at? Strathdale is in Bendigo central Victoria. I have a really small yard area' but have worked out the system I want. Talk soon and will post pics at each stage

Hi Rod.

I am sure there will be someone close by, but failing that it is a good idea to post a pic of the area you wish to use and describe it - ie is it sloping, flat etc? What size is the area?

If you also descibe how you want to set your system up then many of us here can provide you feedback which may save you time etc.

There are a few members from Vic so hopefully someone is close by. What size/kind of system are thinking about? The IBCof Aquaponics link at the top of the screen is a pretty handy guide to getting the basics. And of course, browsing the system threads.

Hey there Rod - I think I may be a bit far away - I'm over in McCrae St...

Mind you we do get over to Aldi's and the fish shop in the shops nearby about once a week.

My current one is an IBC system I got from a guy who was in Strathfieldsaye and moving to Melb. I've been running it for 8 months or so to learn the ropes and I'm about to build a greenhouse and set up a much better system over the next few weeks - just been waiting till I can do it without getting baked while I work.

A couple of weeks back I added in some Silver Perch (after Bendigo tap water killed my goldfish) and I'm heading for Maldon tomorrow to get some catfish to add in there before the SP's get big enough to eat them.

What are your plans looking like?

Thanks guys for your replies already. I am thinking of using 3 ibc's in total. I am going to have three grow beds set on blocks with a sump underneath. The sump will pump the water to the complete IBC (1000 litres)) The array would be in the form of two Gb at the back with the third grow bed set at the front middle and the sump underneath centre. Of all the designs Ive seen this seemed most appropriate. I am in a small unit with a backyard that is rectangular in shape. Approx 40ft x 15
