Guns didn't get up off the floor and start a war.

History shows that the overwhelming majority of wars(all the wars in modern history) revolution, genocide has been perpetrated by governments. If not direct deaths from war, the huge number of deaths from sanctions, sponsoring brutal dictators, support drug trade and other foreign policy.

Guns or swords or bows and arrows or nuclear bombs or drones. All for the health of the state.
War is the health of the state.

I don't know what these "nutcase right wing militias" are that you are talking of. Are these separate from the government ?

All of the above... can only happen... as did Nazism... by the succour of the people....

And I see much the same mind numbing pseudo-patriotism.... and self serving justification going on in all the so called Liberal, Liberatarian, and right wing loonies and religious morons... coupled with those that hold the levers of finance...

Fascism is on the rise... couched in the same sort of egalitarian, pseudo-liberatarian, and pseudo-liberal democratic petticoats... that saw the consented rise of Hitler...

Same old class ideology and supposed "socialist" fear campaigns, xenophobia... and finacial market manipulations... tossed with an unhealthy smattering of pseudo-religious fervour....

Manyof the views expressed... are a form of social-elitisim... more than any commitment to a particular philosophy IMO... just to justify self-gratification... and priviledge... it's got nothing to do with any concept of "democracy"...

That is BS. Nothing has been perpetrated by guns. That is like saying spoons make people fat. It is ridiculous.

Maybe you should not believe the news. Most of the people doing this crap are left wing. Hitler had nothing in common with the right wing. Yeah, right the government has been responsible for way more deaths than any other group.

LMAO, you don't really believe the crap you just posted do you?

+1 those guns did not help the indigenous population here. Now I am all for the second amendment. However there are quite a few constitutional breaches made by the right wing. Then they hold up the second amendment as this cloak to make it seem like they are upholding the constitution. As they are doing it they are playing a sleight of hand game eroding other rights. At least the left is transparent about how they feel about the second amendment. The right grinds away on our rights in an attempt to make us "safer" from "un-American" influences. The Patriot Act is exactly that. The silliest piece of double talk ever. I wish we had another Clinton. He was able to use the resources legal at the time to keep non-domestic terrorism off of our soil. He did not have to erode our institution to do so.

Guns did help the indigenous people, they just did not have enough.

No you are not for the second amendment if you have to use "but" after it.

Give one example of a constitutional breech of the second amendment by what you call the right wing. LMAO, the left wing nut jobs are not transperant, they keep saying they want reasonable restrictions. There is no such thing as restrictions on a right.

Now I agree with you on the patriot act, but clinton also eroded the constitution.

None of this talk matters one bit, because unless one of you are willing to come and get my guns you won't ever get them from me.

I left the other aquaponics forum over this crap.

Exactly. I have never heard of anyone in a right wind militia. They don't exist, if they did I would probably be a member.

It is painfully obvious that lots of people don't know what it means to be to the right of center. Right wing is just some stupid term made up by the liberal media.

Still waiting for someone to try to come and get my guns. You want to see bloodshed let them keep up with trying to destroy the 2nd amendment. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

Wow, there are so many un-informed human beings. Some people talk about Governments, but they forget to mention about the Association of Bank Owners who almost control everything that matters to them.

And also history has proved that for a dictator to gain power, he has to disarm all the citizens. I do not think anyone in the right mind can deny this fact.

And the fault is with [ We the People].

In a Republic, people have to be virtuous, informed by truth, and also have to be involved.

Human being is full of faults, and simply said BAD. It takes a lot of hard work, self discipline, and good family up bringing for a person to be a good human being in all aspects of life.

We the people are at fault here.

The social fear campaigns are from the left. Guns don't hurt anyone.

What is with your fear of an object?

Again all this talk is irrelevant. You have no rights you are not willing to fight for.

One more thing, exactly how are all of you anti gun folks planning on taking guns from us with them. You do know we are willing to kill to keep them right?

Great thread Helo. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

man, I got into AP gardening to take my mind off the BS that is our world. I have no control over any one but myself and I have no desire to control anyone or tell them how to live their life. Too many people are worried about everyone else instead of themselves.

There is no peace or safe. It is an illusion. Anything can happen at any time to any one. Destruction is a part of life just as creation. Plants, animals, humans all compete and fight for not only to survive but also to thrive, to do as good as possible. Its the nature of things. Having said that, fists, swords, guns, missiles, doesn't matter. There are violent and crazy people out there just as there are nice people. I don't plan to lay down and die if someone tries to kill me or my family.

Not sure if everything I said made sense, but I'm pretty groggy right now from the flu.

I think that most of my fellow citizens are reasonably honest and responsible.

In my opinion most are not willing to harm anyone.

Therefore I hope that many will keep weapons, because when something brown and smelly hits the fan, at whichever scale (some crazy killer shooting around, a despot, an invading army ...), we will be much more able to resist. This very capability may even bar some from even trying.

Anyone thinking that most of his/her fellow citizens aren't honest and responsible may, sooner or later, call for something to "control this bunch of idiots/criminals/whatever", and we all know where it leads.

America's main problems are caused by racial/ethnic tensions, aggravated by the economic crisis. Weapons aggravate their effects but, in a way, also somewhat alleviate them because the craziest ones are more swiftly killed, and that's good for other's life expectancy, albeit I don't know if this "compensates" bad side-effects (for example bystanders becoming victims).

I live in France, where the average citizen cannot legally detain any weapon adequate for self-defense. Many, here, think that their fellow citizens aren't responsible enough. Weird logic twist, because if most think that most cannot think... well, who can judge? They like to have the government care for as much as possible, even if nearly all reckon that it botches nearly whatever it touches. Another twist... The patent effects of ethnic/racial tensions and eco crisis are not as strong as in the US, but growing, and various signs show that as soon as the brown thingie will fall around the central authority will, as usual, disappear in a "puff" and most guns will not be in the hands of the more honest and respectful ones. I bet some will then understand something, but it will be too late.

In a perfect world baddies (or maybe weapons) may not exist. But, as already stated the genie is already out of the bag and you can't put it back. Denying a way for the honest one to defend himself is only going to make it worse, either by condemning him to cease to be a law-abiding citizen or by converting him into a potential victim.

Thank you, and I agree. I do not come to AP forums to discuss politics. I hate discussing them, but I feel the need to defend my rights when I do see something about them.
