Even with the same guns laws Australia would be significantly easier to invade due to a significantly lower population. Much less effort is required to gain ground here than over there. We have far fewer numbers to guard our borders. Invading Australia would be a totally different kettle of fish, more about who has the most equipment to move troops than numbers on the ground. 1000 soldiers on foot would have a much harder time than 500 or even 100 with troopies etc. I am not saying you are wrong SV, an armed America vs an unarmed America then absolutely. I am not even trying to claim to be educated in this. I dont think comparing america and Australia in that way is comparing apples with apples.

I just find the difference in attitudes interesting. I want my rifle licence as much as the next guy who wants it.

You are right rsevs, my post was supposed to have the phrase "all else being equal" which includes population and all the other things like terrain, climate etc etc.

I think a far bigger problem is that these guys are really sick. They are on prescription medication that is known to cause violence and suicidal tendencies.
Why are they given this stuff?

There are a lot of laws that are there for the big Pharm. The whole war on drugs is so they don't have competition. Our nation would likely save billions in taxpayer dollars if we put that money into... I don't know, perhaps the thing big Pharm has spent the most money to kill, true universal healthcare.

I am against universal healthcare just like I am against all forms of government aid. It boils down to theft of one persons money to give to another. When and if obama care kicks in I will probably quit working and only do cash jobs and use that health care. I am sick and tired of busting my ass to pay for others that sit on theirs. I know for a fact if obama care kicks in me and my wife are getting divorced. She will have healthcare and she can also at that point take advantage of every system she can. I am tired of paying for this crap. Good old uncle same took about 30k dollars of my money this year and wasted it into the federal government. This is going to stop.

BTW I agree with the BS laws though.

And nothing has taken effect yet, and when it does I hope it completely bankrupts us. Or hopefully Texas can secede and yall have keep the universal health care. Don't worry all our non contributors can move to another state when we do.

I would imagine an intended purpose of selling slag is that it would probibly make a great aggregate in concrete. That would keep it out of landfills, where it would be more likely to leach the heavy metals. In concrete it would be contained, and useful. Because it is a reclaimed material, it would even be considered green to do so.

Here in Vegas... I guess I'm lucky because our quarry is just up the hill. I don't think there is any 'recycled' material to be had.

We had a lot of pre-historic volcanic activity... and my valley is an ancient sea bed. Crappy for above ground crop due to salt content. And compression. And caleche. Good to keep in mind, tho-- should I ever be inclined to filch from a 'dead site'... :cycle:

It is easy to mention Hitler, because he lost. He was indeed a very bad man. He is guilty of the most famous genocide in the 20 th century. The genocides that our great nation has committed are much larger, but unnoticed. First is upon the Native American people in the 1800's. Then in the Phillipeans during the Spanish American war. Finally in Cambodia during the 1970's. Of course we shifted all the blame on another baddie named Pol Pot for that last one. He is responsible for some of the genocide there, but we did vastly more...

+1 those guns did not help the indigenous population here. Now I am all for the second amendment. However there are quite a few constitutional breaches made by the right wing. Then they hold up the second amendment as this cloak to make it seem like they are upholding the constitution. As they are doing it they are playing a sleight of hand game eroding other rights. At least the left is transparent about how they feel about the second amendment. The right grinds away on our rights in an attempt to make us "safer" from "un-American" influences. The Patriot Act is exactly that. The silliest piece of double talk ever. I wish we had another Clinton. He was able to use the resources legal at the time to keep non-domestic terrorism off of our soil. He did not have to erode our institution to do so.
