Hungry redies but looking good,no more deaths so far put it down to fishhooks still in the fish.they say they will dissolve in about a week but i don't know .
jim.

RE: the fish hooks, IMHO this only happens in sea water because of the salt content, don't know how long in freash water?

Frustrating isn't it Jim. I had 2 die undexplained last week, just found them still on their sides, not dead but no good. Looked fine, not swoolen or shrunk bellies, no marks, spots or fungus.

My mate says:If you keep lifestock, you will have dead stock too" and I am sure that applies to fish as much if not more than any other types of stock

Is it home brand Jim - maybe that's the problem  :-(. The 300mm fish must llok impressive. Did you catch them in the wild? Does sound like going the silvers might be the go.

Imported or local - there were warnings about imported in December as they could carry disease which affect fish but not humans - just a thought
