Are there any Silver Perch fingerlings around at the moment to stock a new system?

Looking at Gav's website he's out of stock, might be worth calling or dropping a PM.

Or you could try LiveFish

Live Fish appears to be the most easily accessible currently.

25 fish for $55 delivered.

Does Carey Nagle still exist?

You are not supposed to import SP into the state.... That's where rules just don't work when you make the buyer responsible and not the seller.. The seller won't ask if you have a permit because they want a sale, the buyer is just meant to know they are supposed to get permission before hand.

That's probably because they are legally responsible for plants sent to WA as well as the buyer. The new legislation that is about to come in the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act is set to make things a lot tougher. Non-fish biosecurity works on a border principle but fish works on a post border approach. Go figure.

Very interesting to know, I had absolutely no idea myself. That sort of legislation wont work in it's current form, not unless everyone suddenly became very education.

Back to the drawing board then.

Yeah Gavin said late Jan early Feb as it's currently spawning season.

Sounds so much more interesting than my day job!

Yeah but good luck getting it... I know someone who pestered fisheries a few years ago when there were none around locally, but they wouldn't let him bring any in... They said, there are local suppliers, you have to use local supplies. He showed them that every supplier was out and none were available, but they still wouldn't let him bring them in..

Te translocation officer at the time suggested that he should try Tilapia, then about 12 months later they were on the nocious list...
