The pectin is so condensed you only use a bit and the fish flavor is NOT present when the correct amount is used.

also try this one....few quick and easy steps that even a kid can follow...which is most of us rofl

this is how I normally do it and I leave the head on...theres no need to cut it off really.....oh and if you do wanna cut the head off...the cheek meat etc is great tucker for yabbies and fresh crays

ps...anyone that hasnt done it before...I'd get ya selves a scaler from your local Kmart or fishing tackle shop ....for a couple of bucks theres less heartache and alot quicker than a knife......just sayn that as a weekend fisherman not an AP loon lol

and safer... for someone that perhaps doesn't use a knife a lot... and even better means your good filleting knife doesn't end up looking like a hacksaw

good call, though it is possible to get a filletting knife with a blunt serated section on the back of the knife....for de-scalling
had one for years and the missus said to me once, 'what is that for', had been using it for years.Now it is gone prolly near the sock monster...

true lol....coz a blunt knife is more dangerous than a sharp one....and good filleting knives arent cheap :)

I buy only black explorers to save the anxst(?) but all I can find is the blue green grey ones I used to have.
Thought they were gone!

lmao....I had the prob where my housemate and I both bought the black explorers and we bOTH lost socks...now I buy different colours...or gym sox (coz they're good for diabetics)which me housemate wont touch rofl...but bugger me I still lose them to the sock monster.

lol i just realised this was a fish filleting thread...sorry janet lol :angel13:
