With the water testing, going half dose does not change the color, it just makes it weaker. Now if you want to play the "how to get the water in testable range" game, you can dilute the water with verified nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia free water. It requires lots of maths, but I am sure an engineer turned nurse can figure them out. For instance, you can fill one test tube to the line with ap water, and another to the line with virginal water. Put the two together, stir, shake, whatever way you prefer your drinks, so long as you realize it is only a martini if it has gin, and pour concoction into test tube up to the line. Test and take whatever results you have and multiply by two.

All my attachments in the last post with photos have "*Now Paul, stop that*" after them.

I don't know anyone named Paul, or what he might have been doing that needed stopping.

*I'm* confused!

If there were inappropriate words, the photo uploading applet is to blame. You'll notice they're inside the BBCode tags it generated!

I was thinking that too, except I'd need to raise the distribution pipes or lower the beds to make it happen. So far I haven't thought of an easy way to do either one!

Actually, I did manage to shorten the inlet pipe work on grow bed #1, so the distribution pipes are a couple of inches above the existing gravel, but that's the bed where all my tender little radish sprouts are, and they'd get squished if I tried to add gravel right now.

Ouch, that hurts my brain. I can pretty easily see how diluting with "blank" water makes sense, but when I try to get my brain around why my way wouldn't give an accurate "half" result, which it can't if your way does, since they can't BOTH be right, I get almost there and then my neurons start smoking and smelling funny.

I think I'd better just leave the poor overloaded things in psychopharmacology mode so they don't go into meltdown before I get through all the clients on my schedule for tomorrow. Then I'll get a good night's sleep and tackle it fresh on MY FIRST WEEKEND OFF IN A WHOLE MONTH!

Sorry, the very thought of TWO WHOLE DAYS OFF makes me go all uppercasey and start dreaming of actually HAVING A LIFE AGAIN. Could it really happen? Dare I hope? Or, just when I've convinced myself it might actually be possible, will my dear coworker get a nasty hangnail and need another six weeks to recover?

(I am by far not the angriest of her peers, despite having been one of the most inconvenienced. I dare say her return to work will NOT be a time of joyful reunion with long-lost companions.) :upset:

I could have used pristine, but virginal gets more attention.

A fair distinction.....

It's possible to be virginal... even with age... but pristineness... is not garanteed.... :D

I would have thought that "pristine" wouldn't be in a pirates vocabulary... or high on the wish list...
