I am hope to start my ap by the end of Jan. as this will be the middle of summer I am wanting to know what plants to plant that will have a chance of making a crop before winter, I am pretty sure that corn will be out, but hopeing for cauliflower, tomatoes, melons etc

might be safe to start larger tomatos, but you can grow cherry tommies nearly all year round. bit late for melons I think. maybe pumpkin? Beans should be OK i'd expect, but it maybe a bit early for the brassicas.

I normally just chuck a mix of seeds in and see what grows

Garlic Chives just love AP I have found salt up to 3ppt does not slow them down either. They will grow all year round. My cherry toms are self seeded and grow all year round (but only fruit at the right time). Good if the aim is only to suck up the Nitrates.
