I am afraid it may be a total loss. I had to crawl under the whole plastic cover and puncture a hole in the middle to drain the water form the snow melt. Hope it drains out with outh causing too much more damage. I think all the pipes will have to be removed and the bent peices cut out and replaced. There are 4 large holes in the cover plastic that will be a problem sealing up. I think I will wait till after the snow is gone to mess with it.

I expected it also. I never thought that I needed to shore up the center because the temp
never got below 40 deg F. The air in between the plastic was at least 40 deg also. I guess
it just got too heavy.

Oh it's an awful feeling when that happens. I'm so sorry to hear that. Wish I was nearby to give you a hand with it.

Looking on the bright side, I'll bet the AP system is still running fine.

Wow, I just read your entire thread. You've really overcome some difficulties, Don. So sorry to read of your latest hard knock with the snow!! Surely hope you get to salvage most of it and get your hoop house back up. Post some pics when you have time. Thanks for sharing your experiences!!

I bought new pipe for the frame and got the next size thicker wall tubing and plan to put in some supports in the center of the house. Have only lost the real temp sensitive stuff so far. Cabbage is doing fine. Celery is great too.

Life can be challenging sometimes, but with the amount of effort you have put into your system there is really only one choice - keep going.

Ohhhh you have been changing the forum again. I was trying to get a friend on the forum and to sign him up ;and you have changed the front page so Forum is not on the menu line. WHY?

I finally found the place to sign him up and he is now a member.

Here is what I really wanted to do. Add some pics of the damage to my garden from the snow. It was 8" or more of wet snow that collapsed my hoop house and then about 6" of rain on top of that and a freeze after that.
