Now that's hot Charlie!!!

TC-I'm not going to heat anything in the greenhouse, but will control water temps from the fish house.

My old car frosted up this morning:

My field frosted over at dawn:

Nowhere near as bad as my dad out in Oregon! Beautiful out there though:

Dang Ryan, that is quite the frost on your car there, We definitely didn't get that kind of frost up here. The only heavy frost we had was on the plants in my raft beds. (FYI Ryan's farm and my farm are in the same County for those who don't know.)

Keep in mind that using your system water to heat the greenhouse is going to cause a huge amount of evaporation and condensation if you are doing nothing to heat the air. Not nearly as big a problem down here in FL as other places since we generally don't have hard freeze temperatures persist into the day time for long but I know of at least one Northern greenhouse that discovered an icing problem if one heats the water and not the air in the greenhouse.

And the Ladies out in Brooksville discovered that not heating their greenhouse could mean frozen lettuce when their area gets hit by a hard freeze (they seem to be in an extreme micro climate since I've heard about other farms in their area being hard hit by cold when it didn't seem so bad over in Mt Dora.) I don't think they were heating their water much either but as far as I know they didn't have a major die off of Tilapia so they must have been doing at least a little to keep them from freezing.

Very impressive, Ryan.

This is the sort of scale that I would like to get up to, eventually.

Quite inspirational, thank you for sharing.

Thanks Sick, just learn the fundamentals until you are super comfortable, do some market research and expand your system as needed :).

TC- not sure how the heck they iced over their lettuce in Florida...in a greenhouse! Must not have had much of a seal on the thing because I don't even have any water in mine to act as a solar collector and I can still hold 5-8deg warmer in the GH...and I still have about a 1' gap along the entire bottom side walls that I need to backfill! Here is a pic showing my small dragon fruit plants and 1 that I had about 5' off of the GH sidewall outside...can you tell which one was outside?

Anyways, no problems yet but ill have the next 2 months to chart the temps for next year.
I'm not anticipating too many problems from the cold, a little more worried about the heat of the summer. :)

I assume that single brassica in the floating raft was more a mistake than a test? :p

as always, the systems you manage always look amazing. even in freezing temperatures

Lmao thanks bro

Orcy, more of a case of needing to temporarily stick it somewhere! It was a specialty Broccoli that I later moved into a spot with more room. :)

Few more recent pics, everything kicking ass and moving forward

Sorry, the spelling was supposed to be romanesco, but autocorrect had it's way. That is the fractal brassica.
