We've had a few minor glitches lately with our server crashing and causing most of our sites to be down twice in the last week or two. It's an easy thing to remedy by restarting the server, but I often don't find these things for a few hours. We'll be looking into why the server crashes to try and stop these problems.

Happened again last night.. :dontknow:

"It looks like httpd was killed off by the parent node for running out of memory." As you can see clearly from this log extract..

Damn OOM's killing processes...

Not that I have the slightest clue what any of that means. Evidently they have put some apache optimization's in place so " hopefully this keeps this from reoccurring so often."

I'm out of my depth with this stuff.. :geek:

Is it worth considering perhaps moving the "Backyard Farming"... and "Magazine".... databases onto the same server as the IBC...

Lessening the memory load on the main site???

Or phpBB has a scheduled backup or something. Strange to run out of memory at one of the quietest times of the day, usage wise.
