Hi Everyone,

Rob here from Gosford, first post on this forum though i've been lurking for a while.
I do frequent another regularly.

I have been running Aquaponics for around a year or so, and while i've had a few stumbles along the way, it's been quite good overall.

So good that i recently embarked on a massive expansion. Below are some plans, and progress pics of the expansion. It's changing a little

Mud map of the plan

40mm pipe acts as a distribution to all tanks. From there everything gravity feeds back.

My failsafe... dual inputs for two pumps, both behind check valves. This will be done with the air lines also.

Makeshift swirl filter (a bin actually - will be replaced with a barrel shortly.

Grow beds being setup. You can see parts of the old system which haven't been moved yet etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

I am actually going to add a second 1000L tank at the end of the current tank groups, and run NFT above them. All about maximising space etc :D

Thanks Charlie and vman. It's a long road this one - so much work in it... but it's worthwhile.

I thought i'd also add...

I currently have 90 Bass (some think an odd choice for AP, but i think there's some benefit in a good baseline load of fish on the system - makes the impact of a run of trout or something less impacting, and no lulls in between).
I also have 50 Silver Perch, 4 very large blue yabbies, 12 small blue yabbies, 12 freshwater mussells, and a stack of glass shrimp in my DWC.

There is also a bunch of small (but growing very fast) Koi which are on hold for a pond we're building out the front.

I'll post some more pics of progress later.

Rob
