So glad to have found this forum. I have a small greenhouse with a 55 gal barell tank, that is fed by 3 half barells. I have about 20 hybrid perch in the tank. I set it up a couple of months ago and the plants are doing great, tomatoes, letuce, cabbage, cilantro, some herbs and swiss chard. I even have 3 tomatoes on one plant !! I have a small heater in the greenhouse, but it's supposed to get into the 20's tonight, so we'll see how it holds the heat. I'll take some pict tomarrow and post them. I also have a large tank over two large stock tanks, with 50 or so hybrid perch in one and 40 catfish in the other. that tank sets outside in the garden so the crops in it will freeze tonight  This tank has been set up for about 3 months. I'm anxious to start reading and learning all I can.

this is a view of my setup, not too sophisticated, note my heating system, but it got down to 23 last night and the greenhouse was 42, so that can save tender plants from freezing.

I got them from a fish farm in the area, they said they would grow 3 times faster than regular perch, the hy-brid vigor I guess. they've been very hardy, very small loses. They have shown significant growth over they're old style counterparts.
