Update a few pics.

Here is a way I came up with to add salt to the water. I put the salt in the bucket, and then use a small pump to pump water into the bucket. The salt slowly dissolves and goes into the tank.

Here is a pic of the air going in my system. This is not all the air, but it is more air than I normally run

Here is a normal amount of air being pumped into the water.

Here is a pic of my pumps. The one in the middle is my main pump 2000gph, and you can see it is off the bottom but the pick up for the pump is on the bottom of the tank. I drilled a small hole in near the pump so that if the water level goes below the pump it will suck air and not drain my tank. The one on the right also is set up the same way, but it is only used for pumping water to my solar heater and my duckweed tank, and move more water. The pump up high on the right is just used to move water, it sucks from up high, and pushes the water to the bottom at a 90 degree angle to make the water swirl at the bottom. As you can see it is all pvc nothing else in there.

Man, the two things that I immediately thought of were already mentioned. Bummer. Can't help you with this one. Maybe PM RupertofOZ and see what he thinks.

I got in the tank today, and did not feel any stray voltage. I have it on a GFI plug, so it should trip if there is any issue. I guess I could put a voltmeter in the water and see.

One cray idea might be if it is seasonal and you're on a well, maybe there are some contaminants in there that only show as a problem when the water table changes with the seasons?

If I recall the deaths stopped when you changed your grow bed media. Slag is best used as an aggregate, not for an ap system.

Yeah, no slag in the system now. I am not even using the same IBC's that the slag was in. They are sitting in the yard.

No fracking. No drilling of any type. But thanks and please keep your thoughts coming. I have to be doing something wrong.

Some more pics.

I removed these from the pick up on the bottom of my tanks and replaced them with PVC. I have no idea what they are made of, but they are sold at tractor supply next to the water well and water pumps.

Here is the flow coming into my main tank from the IBC with the healthy fish.

And here is the IBC, you can see the pipes coming from the grow beds to the ibc on the right hand side.

The fact that they are sharing the same water makes it really hard to work out. If there is any contamination it will be in both FT's and effect both lots of fish. Its got to be a temp thing or maybe a feeding thing :dontknow:

Have you done an autopsy on the effected fish, check the gills, skin, internals, eyes, mouth etc..

Im only spit balling here but Im sure something will come to light for you :support:

How about a picture tour of the FT, beds, etc.? The IBC looks green - I suppose some algae but not too much?
