Here I have an aquaponic garden box made from recycled lumber (used flooring, rafters), one IBC tote, a few plumbing parts, and a 1200 gph submersible pump, and local creek-bed gravel.

The system is stocked with 11 koi fish of varying size and one plecostomus in a 180 gallon (~680 liter) tank. The system was cycled with urine before adding the fish. The photos of the system show growth in the first two months. So far we have harvested many melons, okra, mint, tobacco, corn and tepary beans. The fish tank is located directly beneath the grow bed

Looks good but is it a bit tricky to get into the fish tank to harvest?

The fish are easily accessed with the removal of a cover that you can see in the bottom right portion of the photo.

I like this.. it looks smashing. I really like seeing systems made out of wood as I think they work really well with the plants and just look aesthetically nice..... kind of more natural. A little shame that you can't see the koi, but the fresh plants and vegetables make up for that.
