... I have too much time on my hands! Getting close to finished with my IBC system, have been working on it for a couple months now. Much thanks to everyone's expertise on here, I have learned so much from you! Figured I'd introduce myself since this is about to go-live. My name is Sarah and I live in Modesto, Ca, USA. My poor little fishies are fast out-growing their "baby tank" inside, so I'm hurrying to get the real one done this week. Here it was as of this afternoon:

Happy eating, everyone!

Nice to see people jumping in head first with a productive sized system right from the start, but what are the things the growbed legs legs are standing on?

Those are pre-cast footers BWII, people use them to make patios etc. instead of having to pour concrete. Looks great to me!

Welcome! You have a beautiful setup and an even more beautiful lab! I'm sure the fish will rest easy knowing there will be a watchful eye protecting them from predators

Yea those are concrete footers... I have sandy soil and didn't want it to settle in 6 months or a year and be off-level... My OCD kicking in ;)

Wow, is that your front yard? If so, you probably won't admit it since you would be posting in the wrong online forum. ;)

Seriously though, I would ultra-impressed with a set-up in front. It is something that I'm considering to do with koi after my BYAP is up and running with edible fish.

Maybe my backyard just looks really nice! ;)

I like that it's close to the house, accessible, I'll see it every time I come and go, close to power, water, etc. Pretty much perfect. Bonus: I get to educate the neighbors about the wonders of aquaponics!

I guess I mistook the rock work and concrete path as part of a front entrance. That is what I'm used to seeing around here. What a great setting for a BYAP garden!

I agree that placing it in zone one (in permaculture terms) makes it much easier to monitor the health of your system.
