Its been a while since my last post. Today in Melbourne its predicted to be 38 degrees so last night I took the last of the trout out. The biggest was 1.264g. Much bigger than last years effort

I got up this morning to feed the Murray Cod and saw one last remaining trout. Hopefully he survives the day

Hi all. Missed this thread til now.

We bought 12 small fingerlings from Gavin in mid April. They have been absolutely fantastic in the entertainment stakes, especially when some unsuspecting person asked to feed them :D Rain coats required hahaha

Due to insufficient filtration, we had to restrict their food intake in the last few months but we're still happy with the end result. Next season ... who knows

Will need to be quicker with the weights and measures next time. The only opportunity for pics was before the cleaning process

This bloke was visually the largest.

Hi All, hope every body is having a safe and enjoyable festive season. Took a quick video of my remaining trout this morning. Water temp still hasn't been above 21'c yet. Though I have backed the feed off to them. Now the Silver Perch are eating more than the trout were.

Cheers Muz - (turn the volume down)

Hi Guys... The heat eventually started creeping up to uncomfortable higher 20's in the tank and we had a 40 plus day here so I decided it was time for the trout to come out.

All in all I harvested 66 fish. Biggest was just over 1kg and the smallest stunted runt was a measly 174g. I have no Idea why it did not grow as the mouth looked fine and it seemed healthy...

Total weight.. just over 40kg

So Basically I managed to rear about plus minus 60kg as I had harvested 20x500 gram fish over the last few months for the odd dinner now and again.

I feel I did quite well, but only really half way to the 120kg mark that my system should be able to support. That said I think I would really struggle with solids build up in the system as it was pretty bad as it was.

Interestingly I bought 2x20kg bags of feed so it speaks for the fantastic conversion... I did supplement with worms , but not more than a couple of kg.
