I've heard a few people claim that we have modern society because of beer.

I like the caffeine theory as well... Beer for the great ideas, caffeine for actually getting them done.

Do Pirates drink beer or coffee?? I thought they only could drink RUM

It turns out that I still have garlic in my system! I thought it all died off, then yesterday I noticed some green pointy stalks sticking up out of my grow bed. Today I noticed some rather large bulbs under them. I also planted out the seedlings I started. The cabbage and romanesco are in the raft, and the San Marinzano tomatoes are planted by the cherry tomato. I planted the one cucumber plant that is still alive in the same bed. I modified the drain from the raft. Before it could not take the full flow from the pump because for some reason I thought that a one inch drain would be enough. I pulled it off, and lo and behold, the raft drain could. Then the water level was too low, so I took the piece of PVC that I was using as a guard around it and flipped it over. It has crenelians on the top at the right height for the drain. It is just resting on the bottom, but it works. It is also easy to pull out when I want to do a quick drain of the raft bed. Now that the full flow from the pump is going to the raft, the Venturi I installed is actually effective. That naked me happy as I do not have an air pump to pump oxygen under the raft. I may get one in the future. For now, however, we will see how the Venturi does.

Some organic garlic I bought at a store called Trader Joes. I threw the bulb in to see what would happen.

It has been raining here a bit, so I went outside to check on things this morning and my celery turned to me and said "Watsup!" I decided it was time to trim it a bit. The ammount of celery freaked Mrs. Maggi out a bit. We are putting most in the food dehydrator to make vegetable seasoning. I think it will be nice in soup.

Celery is great in soup. That's the only way I really like it actually.

How do you make the seasoning ?

Dehydrate, grind in blender or clean coffee mill, add with other vegetables that you have dehydrated.
