what is a video cable ? coax ?
If you don't already have the cameras I would recommend getting an IP based one (not sure if they cost more) instead of analogue..

Also, you can get adapters that send video over cat 5. For long runs it makes for a much better picture. Cat 5 is FAR less susceptible to interference, especially when you consider all of the redundancy checks that packet based communications has. In short, just run either more cat5 cables, or have gigabit network switches on both ends. Tough to say which is the more economical option.

Thanks Ronmaggi,

I like the multiple CAT 5e cables idea better than coax.

More Googling me thinks

Yep if in doubt, add another ethernet cable :)
You can bunch them all up too. They dont have to be used for ethernet, anything that benefits from shielded twisted pair cable, any kind of serial comms, phone line etc.

Thanks for the suggestion of just using cat 5e cable. I think I'll do that.

The duckweed has been booking right along and keeping up with the few (12) fathead minnows that are in the fish tank. I put 2 goldfish in a half barrel with just air stones and the duckweed is keeping up with them and a frog. Although stuff is collecting on the bottom of the barrel.

Also the bell peppers are starting to sprout from seed, in the NFT tubes. I cut up some old white socks for wicking material.

I tried another experiment today. We're coming up on the end of the outside growing season so why not try something. I put an actively growing wicking bucket into my sump/DWC trough just for giggles. If the remaining plumb toms ripen maybe I'll try again with out the gravel and soil. Just a tom in the sump/DWC trough.

BTW the water under neath is from the rain last night. Barrel halves are holding tight so far.

I shut down my outside expansion but had to do something so I started a small worm farm.

The basic containers are old beekeeping hives lined with plastic.

Some pictures of worms "cleaning" aquarium filters. Worms seem to be happy and reproducing after about a month after startup.

Thursday the 22nd, Thanksgiving Day, the White Stuff has started.

Last night the 23rd, the overnight low hit +1 degree F (-17.2 C)

I guess winter has arrived in Minnesota.

Now where in the heck did I put my insulated boots and gloves? :naughty:

OH and the Comets, worms and plants? :juggle:
