Obo had good results with watermelons a couple of years back in one of his first systems.

My rocket is 4 cm in coco coir basket dipped in the GB but I think it's not the best way, The GB is filed with Hydroton but the rocket leaves are smaller than the gap in the pebbles?
Any help please>?

My system is not that old, but radishes grow like weeds, we've already had 3 batches ripen.. Seems like every seed gives a radish in the system, like clockwork. Pak Choi as well. We've eaten several batches. Dill and Cilantro we've made many meals with. Broccoli seems to grow well we should be harvesting some soon as well as cabbage. Veges love fish poo..

Beetroot! Chioggia is the most attractive and has the best leaves for eating fresh or steamed. Also less messy than the deep red varieties.

Has anyone tried sweet potato or water chestnuts? We have a spare GB that could be dedicated to them!

Water chestnut should be fine , seen a couple threads some where and it was mentioned. Think even EB or Faye grew them

Water chestnut is growing well in my system right now

The foliage on my sweet potato went crazy each shoot growing measurably in a day, so did the roots. Extreme water loss from the system, and thought I had a leak somehere. I would not plant it in a growbed.

My greenpeppers split because I didnt provide them with support.I now have them tied to the top of my greenhouse,and they seem to be doing better.

Broad beans will grow like crazy in AP.... If you like them that is.

Just make sure you keep the dead leaves cleaned out from underneath them to avoid fungal probs

kangkung (water spinach) is good
that was the only thing i grew when i started AP, and kinda getting tired of eating it day by day(grow like crazy), now i have only one plant left(in separate tub) just for weekly or biweekly menu

Chard/silverbeet grows crazy here.

Celery does good but stems are nowhere the size of shop stuff.

Tomato plants are mixed here,y cherry roma is growing goood but others not so but i think its shade thats doing that as other plants r jogging the sun

Broadbeans going crazy, pak choi and lettuce do well

Eggplant not so good

Broccoli is good but caterpillars galore

My systems are less than a year old tho so not matured yet

My pepino is going nuts.

Haven't got my system started, but I'm enjoying reading this thread.
Based on my wicking beds and plants that love water I would suggest:
Strawberries, Broccoli, cucumbers, corn, tomatoes.

Broccoli is my winter AP hero here in aus. The plants just keep giving and giving. 6 plants got me well over 20 weeks worth of broccoli.
