It certainly isn't smelly. It is however located close to my neighbour's bedroom but it is also just outside our dining room. We don't hear it unless the window is open and even then it sounds like a water feature.

We did speak to them when I first started the system and told them if they had any problem to knock on the door. :dontknow:

The move to the country is currently getting planned with it most likely to happen early next year. Look out for the relocation thread followed by the expansion thread.

Currently trying to get a shed and water tank built on the block but am having trouble getting hold of sand.

ImageImageArbe my outlets are simple, from the tap it goes 90 down with a pipe to the gravel. No noticeable build up of solids, im using 18mm gravel tho

On the cf bed i just have a reducer to 40 mm and the excess flows out of that

Works very well

Just tried to get a photo of the water distribution but couldn't get a clear picture.

You can see the solids deposited on top of the media under the distribution grid and in some of the holes you can see solids stuck in them but water is still flowing.

There is only enough water flow to have water come out of some of the holes so I would presume if these holes blocked up the ones with no water coming out of them would take over allowing the blocked ones to become unblocked over time (I would think that the solids which are blocking a hole would break down over time).

So far 18+ months with no problems what so ever.

This year I have noticed lots of little yellow eggs in clusters which I think are lady bugs as I am seeing lots of lady bugs this year.

Hey roo, in the top pic it looks like your distribution pipe is flowing straight into the media guard and drain? Am I seeing it right?

yeah it does look like that but no it that is not the drain the drain is the other side of the ibc

All that is, is some 100mm pipe thats only as big as in the pic.. it was for the water to pour into without splashing everywhere, i put a sock with shell grit in it a while ago

I wont be adding it to my current system configuration but it will be used when I relocate early next year.

Hi Arbe, just spent some time going through this whole thread. Once again learned a lot. This forum is awesome.

I am also still curious - what happened with the incident where the guy arrived and took photos?

Also where is the thread for your expansion?

Thanks for all the info.

Regards, Martin.
