Dad did look at this design but doing the welding as well as finding the gearing setup was more work than what we did.

Yeah, I been thinking of ways to do it easier.

I suspect you could simply use PVC pipe and a plastic bucket/bottle. Either:
1- turn bottle upside down, cut small semi circular groove out of mouth of bottle, cut hole in PVC pipe same width as bottle mouth, glue PVC pipe on and install auger but inside pipe
2- drill a hole on the right and left sides of bottle near bottom, push PVC pipe through one hole and out the other, etc etc.

Yeah. The hard part is getting the right measurements of food with small to large pellets as well. Ours is very exact and easily extrapolated. Plus the kids love watching the insides!

Harvested the rest of our trout. 39 in total which is pretty good for our first year. System should do 50 next year happily enough. We found this guy in there and named him stumpy
