Wasn't too fat really , nigh on a kilo whole , 170/180 grm of "gut" , certainaly in good nick but not obese.
The dinner guests thought it was delish , simply baked whole with lemon thyme in the cavity and lemon pepper cracked over the skin mm mmm

Have I told you guys just how pleased I am that people are making the effort to harvest their fish and turn them in to a meal or freeze them for later. What a rewarding experience to get them all grown and harvested, unlike other years when people learnt the hard lessons of not listening to the weather forecasets. Nature is very unforgiving and rainbow trout are no exception. Keep up the great work everyone. :)

Finally! Some biggies.

Temps were above 25 degrees yesterday and above 22 today. So I plan to pull all but my smallest by Sunday.

Got two big ones and a medium sized one. The big one I measured was 35cm long and almost 600grams.

Had another cull tonight... my average size is 450-500 grams and the biggest tonight was 660 grams!!!

I pulled about 40 the other week... ranging from 400-750gm.... no pics though, battery flat and can't find the charger...

Have a fridge full if I do though...
