Thats interesting that nitrites have stuck their head back out... I suppose virgin systems take time to stabilise within the first few months.

Mrs charlie loves this design and especially the little window. I hope your water quality stays at a reasonable level so it stays at that great visual quality.

thanks all... we've put a fair bit of work into it and mum is really excited so that means its a big tick for us!!

with 4 growbeds and filter material in each one and eventually a swirl filter to help with solids removal i'm hoping i can keep the water nice and aquarium clear!!

could try one of those magnetic aquarium scrapers if the window greens out on you, save you getting wet to do it

i don't think algae will be an issue in the window as dad has made an insert that will cover it when not being used as a feature
