Try carwash places. Here in my neck of the woods it costs them to return them so they give them away nd due to EPA regulations it is all bio friendly soaps. Rinse till there are no suds nd presto. Most of the soaps are either citric degreaser or food grade detergents.

The ones I got had a chlorine based cleaner in them (I'm guessing bleach).
A rinse and a scrub plus a couple days sitting in the sun and no more smell at all.

I picked up 6 today for $35 each on craigslist in Reno. The guy had probably a good 50 more. They
were in like new condition and had already been cleaned by the company. They had some kind of water based resin in them.

Looking at picking some up next week, price $50 each. The guy said they contained methane, apart from the pong is there any reason they couldn't be cleaned up for tank or GB use??

There is a business near Picton that sells them for 30 bucks. One had a biodegreadable detergent in it and the other had transmission oil. He tried hard to get me clean ones.I only needed them for fruit tree irrigation and fire fighting though :wave1: Major cleaning for the oil one but will use that for backup firefighting.

Chippy,

Be careful of those and you may want to double check what was in them as I cannot see how Methane was stored in them - it is the main component of natural gas.

Methane is an odourless gas. Might be worth a double check of the previous contents.
