MacGyver, your rage against the more clean is justified... Our society's obsession with clean has recently been sited as the possible cause of many auto-immune disorders such as eczema and asthma. Cleaner isn't always better.

But a less distracting website is very nice :D I like the new look.

Awesome! Now I get to blame my messy house as being good for my daughter! Actually, I shun antibacterial lotions and soaps for the very reasons you cite. The best defense is a strong colony of beneficial microbes!

Don't forget kosher salt! It works wonders on egg encrusted 5 day old pans. Not that I ever let pans stay dirty for that long :liar:.

Last weekend I made the windows clear using water, a bit of vinegar and then removed all streaks with newspaper which I then recycled. It's as though there is no glass there now :)

I may have over reacted a bit about the whole clean thing in this thread. (Had too many coffees I think) Going to focus more on aquaponics in the future.

Coffee grounds make a great anti-cellulite scrub... Apparently the caffeine reduces it, while the rough nature of the grounds make for an excellent exfoliator.

Re: font sizes,

Best practice is really to have the text width (ie the length of a line of text) change dynamically to reflect the size of the window. This also allows ctrl + and ctrl- to work like it should to zoom in and out, and also allows vision impaired people (or anyone else for that matter) to set their browser text size in their preferences.

A very good example is css zen garden.

If you go to that site, you still see the entire page with the text reformatted, regardless of your browser being full screen, a quarter of the screen, whatever (within reason). Also Ctrl + and - (or Ctrl and using the mouse wheel) zoom text and graphics in and out, and keep everything still visible on the screen by dynamically re-formatting the text.

It's just a matter of using style sheets as discussed on that site. (I think there are some tutorials on there as well)

If I zoom this BYAP window in, the right hand end of the lines of text text disappear off the right hand side of the screen.

W3C has some free validation tools you can use on your site to see if it's up to scratch as well.

Some of the sizing issues may be some miscommunication as well, since the CSS is cached in peoples' browsers they may be making a comment based on an old stylesheet.

To help avoid that, if you change the header in your HTML whenever you change the stylesheet it will make browsers reload it.
ie. stylesheet.css?rev=1 (then in increment it with each change)
