Nice work..

1 little thing the pipe coming up from the SLO drop that so it is Below the Lip of the tank so it can act as an over flow if you get to much water in it..
The Pipe connecting the 2 sump's together needs to Larger in Size so it Does not restrict the Flow of the water..

If it was me and I'm am talking me..
- run the system constant Flood.
- 1 central Sump in the Middle between All the Growbed's..
- Run a Drain pipe from each end of the Growbed Rack to the Central sump and up the size of the Drain Pipe from 25mm to 40mm even 50mm..
[The idea there is to NOT restrict the flow of Water OUT of the Grow bed's..]

That is my Little rant..
General I think the system is Good..

Good work so far..

Juergen

Cheers,

The sump connection is 40mm,
I have some 90mm uni seals but was saving them for swirl filter..

Its running constant flood now no worries..

Btw I used to have 1 large sump in the middle but I dropped the height of the grow beds so without digging, no longer possible.

Video update later today

Howdy,

Fish are coming Wed/Thursday so now is when i should be looking at salting.
Can anyone recommend how much I should be adding for 4000 litre FT ?

Im pretty sure 2 to 3 ppm is the forumla, but not sure how to calculate that to 4000litres..
4kg = 1ppm? so 8kg = 2ppm?

Also, are we talking just swimming pool salt from Bunnings/Mitre10 ?

Cheers!

1 to 3 parts per thousand. So 4kg would be 1 ppt. Pool salt is fine as long as its pure ie no additives. 20 kg bag is about 7 dollars.

It's really personal preference. I run my system at 1ppt and haven't had any issues. I know charlie runs his system at 3ppt. The way I see it you can always add more but you can take it out

Also dosed with Seasol.

Appears to be going well,
