i harvested 6 fish for a guy writing a book about fish.. he dissected them and found that there weren't any parasites (he was hoping to document game fish parasites) - good news for me, bad for him..
had another nile tilapia stuff itself into the water bridge t (with a net pot "blocking" it).. stupid tilapia..

still working quite a bit at my job.. been trying to take care of the system as i can.. so yesterday i started moving some of the larger marmokrebs (from the first hatch) into the pool.. i found 5 in berry!
2 of them went into tanks by themselves, the other 3 went into the pool (where most of the larger marms went) yp, bg, and tilapia..there's got to be 20 or so crayfish in there now, with at least 3 pregnant ones, i need to get some more hides in there so that a few make it past the small size
i still have a few tilapia fry in a tank that i saved from the sump as well..
the growbeds are kind of a mess with overgrown stuff.. i hope to take a couple days off soon to cleanup, and i'll take some pics

Update request!

Q: Why don't we all have Intex inflatable swimming pools? For $50 a pop you can have more fish tank capacity than you would ever need! Do they have any algaecide or other treatments on them to worry about?

hey Dave.. thanks for asking for an update.. my office is in the middle of a datacenter relocation project, a total of 6 "move events" to get 300+ servers to a new facility, with only 6 hour down time windows.. this is my first weekend off in way too long, so today i'm taking it easy and tomorrow i've got some major cleanup work to do in the basement
my 8' intex (blow up ring on top) pool has had fish in it since may of 2011, at first just minnows and crayfish, using a barrel filter, but now it has close to 200 fish.. best estimate around 130 yellow perch 5 sunfish 45 nile tilapia and 9 blue tilapia..
i've got maybe 8 baby blue tilapia in a 55 gallon tank..
i've got probably 100 or so rosy red minnows from my one hatch before moving the perch to the pool, and probably 150 or so marmokrebs in various tanks.. not sure how the scuds are doing, their tanks are looking particularly nasty
having trouble with aphids again, and sprayed with garlic/chilli spray last night, but i'm going to get more ladybugs, they've worked best for me..
i'll get some pics this weekend
happy turkey day

doing fine! the doctors have never figured them out.. i would have to be in the hospital being monitored when it happens, unfortunately (fortunately??) it only happens once a year or so.. go figure
our move this weekend was cancelled, but it was decided we could get some maintenance done this weekend, so we're working anyways..
the system is going fine with minimal input, but it's kind of messy.. had another marmokreb hatch, and the last batch is ready for the pool..
time for some pics for sure

been working every weekend moving our datacenter, finally getting close to finished..and then hopefully a few days off!
my growbeds are a mess, fish are fine, but i lost 2 of my biggest blue tilapia during our recent cold snap, all 50 or so nile 's are fine.. kind of hard to tell what day or night it is lately.. but i know i found one dead fish during 2 visits to the basement in a row..i did put a heater next to the pool to blow some warm air around.. lots of tanks to top up
noticed another hatch of marmokrebs in one of the 55 gallon tanks..i've got one batch ready to go into the pool as feeders (about 1")... these are working out pretty well as a supplemental feed, and i'll be looking for some to get big in the pool for feeding us!
and the 10 or so baby blue tilapia are fine as well in their 55gal heated tank (the only tank i heat)

finally had a long weekend and thought i'd get a chance to clean up everything.. of course the wife and i were both pretty ill on monday...
but i did manage to take a bunch of pic's before starting the cleanout on tuesday, got 3 growbeds cleaned up, leveled and dusted with DEand BT.. i'm going to let my son and future d.i.l. use one to propagate plants she's growing for centerpieces for their wedding..
one of the growbeds had some settling of media so the top was getting wet and i had some bugs/algae.. i shortened the standpipe in that one, then leveled it up..
i put about 30 marmokrebs into the pool, couple of the smaller ones i expect to be eaten, but had to thin out the herd
i had someone contact me out of the blue, it seems they knew one of the people that our landlord hired to do some work, and the guy saw my system and was pretty impressed.. it turns out that i know the guy that wanted to see it, he lived a couple blocks from my parents house when i was young..anyways, he's building an ibc system, and i hope he joins the forum (i already pointed him here)
anyways, i'm making progress again, and hope to get a couple of new lights set up, and a new (used) ups hooked up for my new airpump (ponmaster ap40)
oh.. and i got a free white crayfish (still not id'd) from the petstore the other day when i was picking up some glass shrimp to restart that culture

finally got a few minutes to post some pic's.. i still have one growbed to clean, and i want to add some media to a couple of the beds that look like they settled a bit so water is coming up a bit to high for my liking..
anyways, with work being what it has been lately (and more work tonight!) i haven't been able to keep the system how i like..
