No fish left now. Will have to clean out the leftover white slime from the fish and leave it fishless for a few weeks. Maybe till we hit barra temps. All readings are still normal. Developing is supposed to finish in 3 weeks so not getting more till at least then

grab some feeder fish from one of the pet shops around, they'll tick along and then become feed at a later date. I think you can get 10 for $8 in Malaga.

I'm thinking of putting some colour in my tank.

So for those that haven't noticed yet we have a new member to our little family, Emily who escaped her mum on thursday night. those we met at the BYAP winter get together might have noticed it was happening but may have been too polite to ask (you know women and their weight :D )

heres a pic of the monster in question sorry for bad quality it came from my phone

yep our first bundle of terror, totally adorable when sleeping or looking around, but i've never heard such high pitched noises coming from anything alive.

ok time for an update.
we now have 8 large trout to keep the main system going, feeding well so we'll see tonight/ tomorrow morning how much they eat after a day of earthworks over the fence.
now have a blue barrel system up and running this has been made as a movable system as it will be a christmas prezzie for a very interested family member who is renting at the moment (have cleared it with the RE agent), will attach pics.

i was going for minimalist as it has to be movable, the barrels are supported by 12T tiedown strap webbing so thay should last pretty well and the frame folds up like those old directors chairs. only thing i would change next time is the location of the outer legs would have them further to the outside to help stability but it's still stable as is so not too worried.

well after a few days of earthmoving directly behind my fence the trout are actually eating more, probably fully settled in now i think. the useless developer has been digging up the same piece of ground about 15m from my block about 6 times a day for the last few weeks you would think with all the new housing estates going in around perth at the moment that they would be pretty efficient at it by now but obviously not. 5 days till they are supposed to be finished i don't think they'll manage it

Very cute kid guys. Congratulations. That is the risk when you grow cabbages though :D

That blue barrel system looks the goods too. I might try and talk my oldies in to trying something like that.
