What????Must be some mistake! Over a year since update...System is still going with original Silver Perch. That must be 2009/10 . Have had no hiccups, original BYAP pump going strong but have had a new airpump as original started to look a bit heated and brown like it was ready to burn. I use it as my backup if power goes out as it still works. No issues with water but have honestly not checked it for over a year and a half and fish are very happy especially now the weather is warming up. Leeks, Tomatoes,Parsely, Chilli, have continued to grow throughout the year. Have just put in a load of lettuce beetroot silverbeet cucumbers tomatoes that i grew from seed in my greenhouse.
Hoping for bumper crop this summer.YAY!!

Yep Faye, Its been a long time away from forum but have been lurking as we do. I was talking to a collegue at work about my aim for this summer to have all my salads and vegies to be home grown. She wanted to come over and see my yard. I then told her i was mainly into aquaponics. WELL!! She is so excited now to see my yard because she has heard about AP. I told her i would take her to BYAP. She is from China(city) originally and is just getting to enjoy the ability to have a back yard.

Hey Dude, It has been a long time. System is doing so well and cant bring myself to eat the remaining SP. I have no idea how long they live for but they seem very happy and are doing the system well. As for moving to the farm, Its up to a lotto win or an inheritence and Dad at 80 years old is not giving up yet!!He has been for his annual holidaying in Broome, just come back from 4days in Bris and off to the Murray river cruises in November. There goes the inheritance. Good for him I say. The farm however has a nice solar generated shack and plenty of water now so I dont mind roughing it. About to get a ride on mower as the weeds are up to here!!

You could just let the white butterfiles do their thing and spray everything with dipel to kill the grubs
Good to hear the system is still going well and those silvers must be some size by now :thumbright:

My little greenhouse is blowing in the wind tonight. Hope the make shift security rope holds out. I have all my seedlings growing in it and about 3-4weeks ago when we had a mini storm ,it blew over. I had tears in my eyes when i looked out the window and saw it collapsing.
Of course I didnt let a tear drop until I got out there to find all my pots in a pile. Boo Hoo!
I now have a pile of seedlings including my chillis , in allsorts of pots and i have no idea what is what now.

Chatting to Nat today about how to go about giving Trout a go next year. I think i can do it but as he said will need to turn my backyard system into two separate courtyards as i want to keep my silver perch.Hmmm, Im looking at the space i have under my second growbed to put a second tank in. Will need to renovate!! :D
