I have my first peach blossom. It struck me as out of season...

My cherry tomato label said it would grow 18"-22"... I just looped it to keep the top within pruning reach.

The grapes have grown considerably. I hope to have a bazillion next year!

Thank you for all of the compliments! I can't wait to get some grapes... Patience is key, at least that is what I keep reading  The trees are fun, I have yet to see any progress from the lemon tree. The cherry tree has grown some, but no fruit this year... I was not expecting any olives yet. I had a blossom on my Asian pear tree, but it fell off. That tree requires a lot of pruning. It likes to send up a lot of vertical branches, and they are no good for fruit.

Looks good Ron.
We have alot of those Asian pear trees and most people dont prune them, they all have the vertical limbs...
Maybe I can lop ours back and get better growth next year?

Pruning is important because those vertical limbs draw resources without producing fruit. So I would imagine that you would get a lot more fruit without them.

How many loops do you think you can get out of that cherry tom??
there is a good topic about striking the cuttings.
You can keep the same plant going for years.

I have done this with my first system.

I have no idea how many loops I will get. I have put about three cuttings in, one looked promising, but it got all soggy and died. I have one in now, we will see. I wish I still had my Black to Tula plant, but it too died before I could get any cuttings.

I think that I was not planting the cuttings deep enough. I went out this morning and the third was dead. I clipped off a larger sucker, and planted it deeper. We will see.

15 cm long cutting should do it. cut all the leaves but two and plant it all the down just leaving the two leaves sticking out of the media.
