My Spinach has already perked up after it's transplant into the growbed! Charl said it might take a couple of days (I was worried yesterday that I'd killed it already cuz it was looking a bit floppy) but Hoorah! :hello1:

Amazing effort guys! I particularly like the 'water feature' idea, perhaps when I upgrade I might add one in :) what size pipe (and other pipe/plumbing bits & pieces) did you choose?

Surprised it hasn't been asked... what fish have you got??

Again, congrats and welcome to the obsession that is Aquaponics

No fish yet. Prolly get silvers.

erm.... water feature thing is a 25mm pipe and whatever we needed to attach it... there's a 25mm elbow, and some sort of reducer coupling involved...

Thanks Swittmann! Charl got impatient to get some fish in there though, so we went and got some comets instead :-) hopefully they cope with the seasol!

I have not had any luck growing watermelons in my AP system. The plants do great, but the melons all either crack or devolp a rotten spot on them. Not sure what the reason is, but I gave up on watermelons in my AP system, going to grow them in my raised garden. From what I read watermelons don't like a lot of water, they rather dry conditions.
