We have two members threads running - perhaps one of the overseers could make into one thread for us? Please please !
But - yes - we are still going strong and still learning!

That's some serious trout you guys have there... I'm assuming they'd be over a year old? Most of us Aussies only get them to 300-500gm from what I've seen on the forum.

About 18 months from fingerling.
We try and go for a slow steady growth and use premier trout pellets from skrettings ( not cheap but the results are brilliant).
The plants do well also !

Wow, you get the pellets from Skrettings in Tasmania or are there others around the world?

Skrettings are worldwide -UK and Ireland
We get ours from an agent in England -
Only trouble is that delivery is expensive!

Our cut and come again Water Cress is doing really well and fortunately our recent ( all summer long) rain helps to keep the nasty bugs away.
We are fortunate in having a steady stream of regular customers.

The gb at the bottom of the picture has not been added to the set up yet - we had to cover the clayballs up as the poultry were chucking the balls everywhere!!
Somehow the used clayballs have managed to seed themselves and growth is starting!!

We had a visit from the local Branch of the Young Farmers who appeared to enjoy the visit even though they visited on a dark and very wet evening.
They certainly enjoyed the splashing of the trout and could not believe the size of some of them !

They also appreciated a cup of tea and biscuits !

They were given a little project to do in groups all appertaining to the growing techniques that had been shown and explained to them early in the evening.
Each group then had to do a little presentation on what the group had decided to grow and by which method. They also had to detail how much it would cost to set up and maintain and how long it would take to make a profit.
We had some very interesting answers!!!!
