Well I went fishing in the tank and got 3 fish to transfer to the smaller settlement..

1 did not survive the fishing so it became dinner..
weighted in at about 160 grams whole and about 130gm gutted and cleaned.. It became Mum's dinner and was ok for my first fish cleaning..
Will post a few Pick's to show size..

Is there a link to a few different recipes for fish thou...

Not much, but after the drama's I had earlier this year I had to post the biggest trout harvested on Sunday night...

6/8 fish eaten, smallest was 220g and largest was 320g.

2 to go in 3-4 weeks' time, then onto barramundi for summer.

I'm still holding out hoping not to pull the smallest fish of the season. Water temps are hovering around 16 degrees, so I might have a few weeks in it yet.

Going to try and sneak some more growbeds into the backyard soon so I can go with a few more fish each season.

Grand final of the local footy Saturday, but the smoker will fire up Sunday. Got the next two weeks off so will harvest most of the 26 in that time is the plan. :)

My kids and I had trout dinner planned for tonight but the buggers won't take a bait!
Looks like we will have to eat roadkill again.

Worms, 5mm pellets and little balls of bread, Charlie, but nothing raised their interest today. Have also tried mudeyes and moths in an attempt to 'match the hatch' but they seem to be finicky eaters when not actually smashing their pellets.
Flies may be the way to go but I don't have the gear for it.

Cool, thanks. I though fly might be the go because I can hear mine splashing around here at night... Im assuming they are eating the bugs etc that land in the FT.

Had a dip in the tank and pulled 6. These were kept for tea and the other 4 went back in.
